Beth Townsend: Freelance Copywriter
My name is Beth Townsend and I’m a freelance copywriter based in Liverpool. In October 2011 I began working as a freelance copywriter as The Write Sprite. The Write Sprite gave me four solid year of interesting and new work experiences, with local Liverpool copywriting clients as well as those from around the UK and Europe. By mid-2015 I fancied a new look and feel and wanted to progress to the next level of my career. To do this I decided I needed to relaunch under a new name that feels more like me and as of 2016, it’s all about Bee Copy.
I have written on a freelance basis, in some way or another since around 2006. Before taking that first step towards self-employment in 2011 I wrote for many publications on a voluntary basis, writing about everything from fashion to live commentaries during the Eurovision song contest. I regularly write and update blogs for a number of clients covering content from exercise psychology to online gaming, which I hope is evidence of my versatility!
I have a degree in English Literature and a desire to read as many books as is humanly possible before I die, both of which I believe contribute in some way to my creativity and the quality of my client work.
The best thing about my job is the variety of subjects I get to cover. I love it when some thing a little bit different comes up and working on topics which are new to me are especially welcomed. I love the research process involved in copywriting. It’s integral to providing fresh, unique and effective copy.
I love writing about everything and anything but do have some areas where I have built up considerable experience, most notably the health and fitness industry, travel and tourism and also digital marketing. I have also gained significant experience writing product descriptions in the past couple of years and find this amongst the most interesting work that has come my way.
I work from home in Liverpool so I can balance my job with my young daughters and am always available for new tasks and projects. My working hours are so flexible I can always fit in a little something extra and can work to deadlines, however tight they may be. Get in touch to discuss your next project.
